New this year, guided tours of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory’s (NREL’s) state-of-the-art laboratory facilities will be offered. Two separate tours will be offered:
- Tours of NREL’s Advanced Power Electronics and Electric Machines research facilities
- Tours of NREL’s Energy Systems Integration Facility, Solar Energy Research Facility, and the Science and Technology Facility
Please prepare for these one-hour walking tours by wearing comfortable, closed-toed shoes and full-length leg coverings (slacks or skirts).
Because NREL is a closed U.S. government facility, all tour participants must adhere to the laboratory’s security procedures. U.S. visitors must be prepared to show government-issued photo identification (i.e., driver’s license, passport, or military ID). Foreign nationals must be prepared to present documents to verify their identification AND their lawful status in the U.S.
Please note that security clearance for foreign national visitors participating in an NREL lab tour can take up to 6 months. International visitors are encouraged to register for 3D-PEIM as early as possible to accommodate these security procedures, and to notify Diane Bock when they have submitted their registration.
